I bought a new MacBook Pro this past weekend and also a 24-inch Dell 2407 LCD display. I plan on using my MBP as a desktop in the sense that I'll be connecting a keyboard, mouse, and external LCD while I'm at home. I want it to be portable so I can just unplug and go...
I have never used lid-closed mode only dual-display. Apple posts this on their site:
'You get three options for using your display: dual-display mode, video mirroring, and lid-closed mode.'
I looked through the manual and nothing is mentioned about how to setup lid-closed mode. I don't want to mess up my new MBP so what do I need to do?

The Mac Pro was too big and much more 'iron' than I need for what I do. I really didn't trust the Mini to have the performance that I want. And there is nothing in between.
